iOS5 사파리에서 이렇게 '읽기'기능이 강화되었는데, 한가지 더 추가 된 것은 'Add to Reading List'입니다. 이 기능은 Read it later와 같은 어플 처럼 아이폰 사파리에서 보고 있는 현재 페이지를 나중에 다시 읽고 싶을때 표시하는 클라우드 북마크의 일종입니다.
사파리에서 북마크하는 버튼을 누르면 'Add to Reading List'로 현재 페이지를 읽기 대상으로 저장하게 되고, 나중에 다시 보고 싶을때, 북마크를 열어서 상단에 있는 'Reading List'로 이동하면 읽기 목록이 나타납니다.
iCloud로 공유가 북마크가 공유가 되기 때문에, 아이폰으로 Reading List에 담은 목록은 아이패드에서 똑같이 볼 수 있기 때문에 장소와 상황에 따라 작은 아이폰으로 보거나 넓은 화면의 아이패드에서 여유롭게 글을 읽을 수 있습니다.

저는 주로 Camera+를 사용하고 있는데, iOS5로 업그레이드 한 이후에 비교해보니, 확실히 기본 카메라 어플에서 보이는 뷰화면의 움직임이 부드럽고 자연스럽습니다.
iOS5 카메라에서는 두가지 큰 변화가 생겼습니다.
첫번째는 락화면에서 쉽고 빠르게 카메라 어플을 구동하는 기능입니다. 사진이라는 것은 찰나의 순간을 담으려면 보다 즉각적이고 빠르게 사진 찍을 준비가 되어야 하는데, 이러한 점을 배려하고자 사용자 인터페이스에 기본 카메라 어플 즉시 실행 기능이 생겼습니다.
락화면에서 홈버튼을 빠르게 두번 누르게 되면, 아래와 같이 화면 우측 하단에 카메라 버튼이 표시됩니다, 락화면에서 카메라 버튼을 누르면 곧바로 아이폰 기본 카메라 어플이 실행됩니다.
두번째 변화는 사진을 찍는 방법에 외부 볼륨업 버튼을 사용할 수 있습니다. 사진을 찍을때, 화면에 있는 버튼을 터치해서 찍을 수도 있지만, 사용자 측면에서 아이폰의 볼륨업 버튼을 누르는 방법이 확실히 편리합니다.

I am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I've ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That's it. No big deal. Just three stories.
The first story is about connecting the dots.
I dropped out of Reed College after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months or so before I really quit. So why did I drop out?
It started before I was born. My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption. She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife. Except that when I popped out they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl. So my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking: "We have an unexpected baby boy; do you want him?" They said: "Of course." My biological mother later found out that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. She refused to sign the final adoption papers. She only relented a few months later when my parents promised that I would someday go to college.
And 17 years later I did go to college. But I naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents' savings were being spent on my college tuition. After six months, I couldn't see the value in it. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.
It wasn't all romantic. I didn't have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends' rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5¢ deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the 7 miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. I loved it. And much of what I stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later on. Let me give you one example:
Reed College at that time offered perhaps the best calligraphy instruction in the country. Throughout the campus every poster, every label on every drawer, was beautifully hand calligraphed. Because I had dropped out and didn't have to take the normal classes, I decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this. I learned about serif and san serif typefaces, about varying the amount of space between different letter combinations, about what makes great typography great. It was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way that science can't capture, and I found it fascinating.
None of this had even a hope of any practical application in my life. But ten years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, it's likely that no personal computer would have them. If I had never dropped out, I would have never dropped in on this calligraphy class, and personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do. Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later.
Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
My second story is about love and loss.
I was lucky — I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. We had just released our finest creation — the Macintosh — a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started? Well, as Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When we did, our Board of Directors sided with him. So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.
I really didn't know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down - that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. I met with David Packard and Bob Noyce and tried to apologize for screwing up so badly. I was a very public failure, and I even thought about running away from the valley. But something slowly began to dawn on me — I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.
I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.
During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT, I returned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple's current renaissance. And Laurene and I have a wonderful family together.
I'm pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn't been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.
My third story is about death.
When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.
Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.
About a year ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I had a scan at 7:30 in the morning, and it clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas. I didn't even know what a pancreas was. The doctors told me this was almost certainly a type of cancer that is incurable, and that I should expect to live no longer than three to six months. My doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order, which is doctor's code for prepare to die. It means to try to tell your kids everything you thought you'd have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months. It means to make sure everything is buttoned up so that it will be as easy as possible for your family. It means to say your goodbyes.
I lived with that diagnosis all day. Later that evening I had a biopsy, where they stuck an endoscope down my throat, through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few cells from the tumor. I was sedated, but my wife, who was there, told me that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctors started crying because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. I had the surgery and I'm fine now.
This was the closest I've been to facing death, and I hope it's the closest I get for a few more decades. Having lived through it, I can now say this to you with a bit more certainty than when death was a useful but purely intellectual concept:
No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was one of the bibles of my generation. It was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park, and he brought it to life with his poetic touch. This was in the late 1960's, before personal computers and desktop publishing, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors, and polaroid cameras. It was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along: it was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.
Stewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course, they put out a final issue. It was the mid-1970s, and I was your age. On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you.

스티브 잡스 (Steven Paul Jobs)는 1955년 2월 24일 미국인 어머니와 시리아계 아버지 사이에서 태어났지만, 태어난지 얼마 안되어 양부모에게 입양되었습니다. 잡스의 이름은 양부모가 지어주었습니다.
잡스는 대학교도 비싼 학비가 버거운 부모님을 생각해서 학교를 중퇴하게 됩니다. 하지만, 그의 가정 환경도, 학력도 그의 꿈을 가로 막지 못했습니다.
1976년 스티브 워즈니악과 함께 애플을 창업하게 된 잡스. 저에게는 애플 2부터 애플이라는 PC를 알게 되었었죠. 당시에 주변에서 컴퓨터 좀 한다하면 애플 쓰는 애들이 많았습니다. 그 만큼 PC를 가정에 확산시킨 장본인인셈이죠. GUI와 마우스도 매킨토시에서 시작되었죠.
90년대 말부터 스티브 잡스의 천재성과 혁신은 애플을 다시 새로운 반열로 떠오르게 하고, 맥시리즈와 아이폰, 아이패드라는 걸작을 인생의 말로에 만들어 내었습니다.
다운로드 한 iOS5 GM 파일이 ipsw가 아닌, DMG 파일이라면 맥에서 사용하는 파일입니다. 하지만, TransMac 유틸리티를 사용해서 DMG 파일에서 ipsw를 추출할 수 있습니다. 이게 어려우시면 구글에서 ios5 gm ipsw를 검색해서 ipsw로 된 펌웨어를 다운로드하시구요.
6. iOS5 GM 설치가 된 후, 새로운 장비로 아이폰을 셋팅할 것인지, 아니면 백업 되어있는 데이타로 복원할 것인지를 묻습니다.
7. 백업 된 데이타로 복원하는 것으로 선택하면, 1번에서 최종 백업된 모든 설정과 데이타, 어플들까지 고스란히 복원하게 됩니다.
8. iOS5 부터는 아이튠즈와의 동기화가 백그라운드에서 진행되기 때문에, PC에 아이튠즈를 계속 동기화를 진행하고 있지만, 아이폰은 사용이 가능합니다. 하지만, 가능하다면 모든 복원 과정이 끝날때까지 기다리세요.
9. 복원과정이 완벽히 끝나게 되면, 아이폰 기본 설정이 시작됩니다.
10. 이 과정에서 애플 ID를 만들고 iCloud 서비스에 가입을 하게 됩니다.

"우아!~ iOS4보다 빠르다"

iOS5 의 푸시 Notification 창은 그 동안 답답했던 부분을 조금이나마 해소해주군요. 사용방법이나 모습이 구글 안드로이드의 그것과 닮았습니다. Notification은 화면 최상단에서 아래로 그어주면 나타나고, 다시 위로 올리면 사라지게 되어 있습니다. 왜 이제서야 해주는건지. 설정에서 알림 Notification에서 표시되는 위치와 순서를 변경할 수 있습니다.
iCloud도 비로소 아이폰의 데이타를 안전하게 보관할 수 있는 장소로 유용할듯 싶습니다.

인터넷 메신저 iMessage가 기존 SMS 어플에 같이 탑재되었습니다. 아이폰끼리 문자 전송에는 iMessage가 작동되어 버튼이 파란색으로 되고, 다른 휴대폰에는 버튼이 녹색으로 되어 일반 SMS로 전송됩니다. iMessage가 별도의 어플이 아니라 문자어플에 같이 들어간 셈이지요.

무선 동기화를 지원하고, 아이튠즈와의 동기화도 백그라운드 멀티태스킹으로 진행되어 동기화중에라도 아이폰을 사용할 수 있습니다.
푸시나 문자 메시지가 과거에는 무조건 화면 정 가운데 팝업창 형식으로 떴었지만, 이제는 사용자가 선택해서 화면 최상단에 예쁘게 배너형식으로 나타났다가 자동으로 사라지게 할 수 있습니다.

iOS5는 보다 빠르고, Push 알림창, iCloud, iMessage, 무선 동기화, 동기화 백그라운드 등 그동안 사용자에게 꼭 필요했던 부분을 채워주는 단비 같은 업그레이드라고 생각합니다. 이번 키노트 발표에 혁신적인 아이폰 5와 함께 소개되었다면, 난리가 났을 아이템인데, 아이폰 4S로 그치는 발표에 iOS5 마저 다소 저평가(?)되는 건 아닐까하는 생각이 드는군요.

지난 새벽에 애플의 키노트 발표가 있었습니다. 모두가 한껏 기대에 찬것은 아이폰 5의 혁신적인 새로운 디자인과 더 커진 액정을 기다려왔기 때문이죠. 키노트 발표 직전까지도 유출된 아이폰 5 케이스로 추측되는 제품들의 사이즈와 디자인을 보면서 아이폰 5의 모습을 상상해보는 즐거운 시간이었습니다.
하지만, 애플의 이번 키노트 발표는 모든 이에게 충격과 실망이었습니다.
애플의 혁신적인 디자인이라고 칭할만한 아이폰 5는 어디에도 없었습니다. 다만, 그 자리를 아이폰 4와 디자인과 크기등 외형이 동일한 제품 아이폰 4S가 있을 뿐이었습니다.

아이폰 4S는 CPU 성능, 카메라 정도 개선된 제품으로 봐도 무방할 정도로 아이폰 4와 큰 차이가 없습니다. 특히나 디자인으로 대표되는 애플의 혁신은 이번 발표에서 제외된거나 다름없다보니, 아이폰 5 구매 대기자들의 실망이란 이루 말할 수가 없습니다.
저 또한, 아이폰 5를 기다려왔는데, 이런 실망스러운 발표 때문에, 지금 이 글을 적는것 자체도 힘이 빠지는 일입니다.
아이폰 4와 아이폰 4S의 주요한 차이는 다음과 같습니다.
아이폰 4 : 싱글코어 APPLE A4 칩 / 500메가 카메라 / 720p 비디오 / CDMA or GSM /
아이폰 4s : 듀얼코어 APPLE A5 칩 / 800메가 카메라 / 1080p 비디오 / CDMA and GSM / Siri 음성인식
아이폰 4와 아이폰 4S 동일한 점 : 디자인, 크기, 무게 거의 비슷, 배터리 사용시간 큰 차이 없음
결과적으로 사용자에게 피부에 와닿는 변화는 속도와 카메라 정도입니다. 또 한가지 실망스러운 점은 출시국가 발표에 한국이 포함되지 않았다는 점이죠. 한국은 2차 출시국에도 포함되지 않았기 때문에, 아이폰 4S는 빨라야 12월에나 한국 시장에 출시할 것으로 보입니다.
아울러 이번 애플 키노트 발표에, 애플은 차기 아이폰 OS인 iOS5의 정식 버전을 2011년 10월 12일에 공식 배포할 예정이고, 아이폰 4는 물론 3Gs까지 지원합니다.
사파리, 이메일, 무선싱크가 포함되어 있고, 무엇보다 새로운 클라우드 서비스인 iCloud가 지원됩니다. iCloud도 동일한 날짜인 10월12일부터 정식 서비스가 시작됩니다.
애플의 새로운 아이폰 4S가 과연 시장에서 어떻게 반응을 보일지 출시 이후가 더욱 궁금해지지만, 아이폰 5를 기다리고 기다렸던 2년 약정이 끝나가는 아이폰 3Gs 사용자들의 실망이 가장 컸을것으로 생각됩니다.
애플 키노트 발표를 보고 이렇게 힘 빠지긴 처음인듯 싶습니다.

ProMan은 프로젝트와 같이 하나의 커다란 목표를 이루기 위해, 보다 복잡한 단위의 일들을 관리하는데, 적합합니다. 하지만, 실제 프로젝트에서 PMS(Project Management System)와 같은 시스템을 통해 대규모 프로젝트를 관리하는 입장에서는 ProMan과의 동기화가 이루어지지 않기 때문에, 소단위의 프로젝트 관리나, 개인적인 목표를 이우기 위한 관리툴로 사용하면 안성맞춤일거 같습니다.

#2 ProMan의 특징
ProMan은 일단 디자인과 사용자 UI측면에서 매우 심플하면서 사용하기 편리한 구조를 갖고 있습니다. 한가지 아쉬운 점은 티켓(할일)의 상태를 변경하려면 한번 더 티켓 상태 바꾸기 화면으로 꼭 이동해야하는 점이 아쉽더군요.

우리의 일상이 한번에 여러가지 일을 수행해야하듯이, ProMan에서는 해야할 프로젝트를 여러개 관리할 수 있습니다. ProMan을 처음 실행하고 표시되는 화면은 각 프로젝트 별로 어느 정도 실행되고 있는지를 한눈에 알아볼 수 있는 로드맵 화면입니다.

로드맵 메인 화면에서 새로운 프로젝트를 만들거나, 기존 프로젝트를 삭제할 수도 있습니다. 아래는 새로운 프로젝트를 생성하는 모습입니다. 하단의 탭을 터치해서 설명, 마감일자, 우선수위, 사진첨부등을 설정할 수 있습니다.

프로젝트내에 모든 할일 들은 티켓으로 표현됩니다. 새로운 할일이 생겼다면, 프로젝트에서 티켓을 새로 만들면 됩니다. 모든 티켓은 상태를 갖고 있습니다. 신규로 만들어진 할일은 New, 현재 진행중인 할일은 Accepted, 완료된 할일은 Closed가 됩니다. 아래 화면은 프로젝트에서 보여지는 프로젝트 설명과 티켓 갯수 입니다.

옵션에서는 티켓이 나열되는 순서를 바꾸어서 볼 수 있습니다.

프로젝트를 진행하면서 새로운 할일들이 생길때마다 티켓으로 생성해주고, 처리할때와 완료되었을때 적절히 상태를 변경해주면, 전체적으로 해야할 일이 어느정도 진행되었고 얼마나 남았는지를 로드맵 그래프로 쉽게 확인 할 수 있습니다.

ProMan은 아이폰 안에서 복잡한 일정을 마일스톤 단위로 관리하기에 충분하지만, 복잡한 일은 복잡한 만큼 PC에서 편리하게 입력할 수 있는 웹서비스나 아니면, ProMan이 모토로 삼고 있는 Trac과의 연동이 된다면 더할 나위 없이 좋을거 같습니다.

하지만, ProMan은 아이폰 하나로 모든 걸 해결하기에 충분하도록 사진 첨부를 비롯한 섬세한 기능들이 들어 있습니다. 개인적으로 복잡한 할일을 관리해야 하거나 꿈을 향해 도전하고 있는 분이라면, 깔끔한 디자인과 독특하게 Todo를 관리하는 ProMan으로 자신의 할일을 프로답게 관리 해보세요.

플레이는 난이도에 따라 여러 레벨을 플레이 할 수 있습니다.

플레이 기본 방법은 아래 쪽에 있는 볼의 종류 중에서 발사가 가능한 볼을 먼저 터치하면 아래와 같이 볼이 발사 대기 모드가 됩니다. 이 상태에서 손가락으로 발사할 방향으로 죽 그어주면 됩니다. 3차원 공간이기 때문에 길게 그어주면 멀리 날라가고 짧게 그어주면 가까운곳으로 발사됩니다.

볼에 맞은 큐브들은 터지거나 덩치가 큰 녀석은 여러 개의 작은 큐브로 분리되기도 합니다.

하나의 미션을 클리어하게 되면 수익이 생기게 되고, 새로운 무기를 구입할 수 있습니다. 무기를 Unlock만 해서는 사용할 수 없고, 총알(?)을 구입해야 합니다. 총알 구입은 새로운 볼을 일단 구입하고 한번씩 터치할때마다쌓이게 됩니다.
기본 볼도 업그레이드를 하면 발사후 공중에서 터치하면 볼이 3개로 분리되어 나가기도 하고, 각각의 볼들을 업그레이드 할 수록 더욱 강력한 볼 무기가 만들어 집니다.

좌우로 진격해오는 큐브들을 보기 위해서는 손가락으로 이동하거나 틸트로 기울여주어야 하는데, 이러한 설정은 플레이 도중 우측 상단에 멈춤 버튼을 누르면 설정을 변경 할 수 있습니다.
